Specificity:

As determined by RIA:
Antiserum detects IGFBP-4 in rat serum at a level of 1 ng/ml,
It does not detect IGFBP-4 in human, equine or porcine serum,
Antiserum does not detect IGFBP-3 in rat serum below a level of 7 µg/ml.

Storage/Stability:

At least 2 years at 2 - 4°C (lyophilized)
After reconstitution store at -20°C
Avoid freeze-thaw cycles

Reconstitution:

Dissolve in 500 µl sterile water (a 1/5 dilution). Dilute in a buffer suitable for the desired application

Application and Titre:

Radioimmunoassay 1/40,000
Antiserum binds 20-30% of fresh [¹²⁵I]-labelled rat IGFBP-4 tracer (80 Ci/g).
Half-maximal inhibition (ED₅₀) of radioligand binding is produced by 250-300 pg of rat IGFBP-4 and the limit of detection is approximately 1 ng/ml in rat serum.
